Squid Game Actor May Have Just Confirmed a Disheartening Plot Twist in Season 3

It’s still not very surprising though.
Squid Game ’s second season left its plot on a high note, letting its surviving characters go on with the cruel games that only one of them will be able to get out of alive.
Though now there might be in fact a shift in the rules since Seong Gi-hun is determined to save himself and as many participants as possible, some of those are still likely to fall victim to their lust for multi million prize.
The show’s third and final season, which is allegedly set to be released this June, has yet to prove so, but one of its actors has already made things about their character pretty clear.
Warning: spoilers for Squid Game season 2 ahead!
Kang Ae-shim’s Words About Squid Game Shooting Process May Be a Huge Spoiler for Season 3
In the show, the actress portrays Geum-ja, the mother of luckless Yong-sik who decides to help her son deal with huge debts, though both of them have no clue that only one participant will eventually survive in the games. By the end of the second season, both Geum-ja and Yong-sik are alive, yet their fate in Squid Game remains unknown and might actually become a heartbreaking plot twist that everyone was hoping to never see in the show.
Both Kang Ae-shim and Yang Dong-geun, who portrays Yong-sik, have recently made an appearance on GogglerMY, and the former, reflecting on what Squid Game’s shooting process was like, revealed that the show’s seasons 2 and 3 were filmed one after another.
The actress added that the cast had to spend a different amount of time on the set and “it was just six months for us, but for some of the actors, it was a year.”
What Kang Ae-shim’s Words Might Mean for Geum-ja and Yong-sik’s Future on the Show
The fact that the actress might have accidentally confirmed a major plot twist in Squid Game’s season 3 was then made quite clear when her co-star rushed to whisper something in her ear, though later on both actors reassured everyone that their revelations had nothing to do with the next instalment’s plot.
Still, Kang Ae-shim’s words about her and Dong-geun spending less time on set than others is an explicit hint at both of their characters’ death in season 3. It’s not clear yet what exactly will happen to the duo, but Squid Game’s previous season hinted at two more remaining games that will define the one and only winner.
