Starz Released Long-Awaited 'Outlander' Spinoff, and Fans Are Raving (It Has 8.3 on IMDb)

Outlander is heading into its eighth and final season, but the story doesn't end there. Starz has already released a prequel titled Blood of My Blood. Here's why it's a must-see for all fans.
Outlander has been on TV for seven seasons, but all good things must come to an end. The upcoming eighth chapter will be the last.
However, Starz is not ready to say goodbye to one of its most popular franchises. A prequel titled Blood of My Blood has been released, telling the story of the parents of the main characters of Outlander.
What Is 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood' About?
Twenty years before the events of the first season of Outlander, Claire's parents walked through a circle of stones near Inverness and were transported two hundred years into the past.
There, they met younger versions of the original series' characters, as well as Jamie Fraser's parents.
Furthermore, the stones continue to send people back in time by exactly two hundred years. If Claire from 1945 was transported to 1745, then her parents from 1921 ended up in 1721.
'Outlander: Blood of My Blood' Is a Project for Fans of the Original Series
The first episodes of the prequel make it clear that it is indeed Outlander through and through – it is aimed at the original show's audience. And it's not just the numerous Easter eggs and appearances of young versions of familiar characters.
The prequel's creators clearly assume that viewers are familiar with the Outlander universe and won't question how 20th-century people can travel to the 18th century or how the Fraser and MacKenzie clans are connected.
This allows viewers to immediately immerse themselves in the intricacies of the story and the lives of Scottish highlanders in the early 18th century.
'Outlander: Blood of My Blood' Has a Higher Budget Than the Original Show
The first few episodes of Blood of My Blood demonstrate how much more money Starz is willing to invest in one of its most popular franchises.
In contrast, ten years ago, Outlander only offered a brief glimpse of Claire's hardships during the war. The writers of Blood of My Blood depicted the war in all its horror.
They approached the depiction of the lives of Scottish Highlanders in the early 18th century with even greater attention to detail. We learned a lot about their lives from Outlander, but the prequel uncovers new details, such as the burial of deceased clan chiefs.
