If you've ever wondered how anyone could dislike Quentin Tarantino's work, King wrote an entire article about why he doesn't like the modern film classic.

Stephen King, the undisputed master of horror, has never been shy about his opinions. He said he didn't care about Succession, called The Godfather: Part III as a movie that didn't matter, and criticized Fifty Shades of Grey (well, that one was actually fair).

Stephen King Wrote an Entire Article Criticizing Kill Bill Vol.1

At the same time, Stephen King didn't like one Quentin Tarantino movie so much that he wrote an entire scathing article about it. And that movie is Kill Bill Vol. 1. Yes, one of the best works of the modern classic. In his article for EW, King wrote:

“The blah movie was Kill Bill. [...] They're [the critics] thus apt to rhapsodize over narcissistic stuff like Kill Bill, which announces itself as Quentin Tarantino's Fourth Film, ain't we la-di-da.”

The writer continued his criticism by stating that, unlike Mystic River starring Sean Penn, no one will remember who played in KIll Bill or what the movie was about ten years later.

As we can now see, King's prediction did not come true – Tarantino's film became a classic of cinema, and Clint Eastwood's work, while still a worthy drama more than 20 years later, has not achieved the same status.

Quentin Tarantino Didn't Ignore Stephen King's Review

Tarantino himself couldn't help but notice the comments of such a famous figure as Stephen King, and responded to his criticism in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight:

“I can imagine someone taking a cynical view like that. [...] This is my fourth movie and I haven’t done anything in a long time. It’s telling you who I am today, and the fifth will tell you something else. They’re all different places.”

Well, it looks like the collaboration between King and Tarantino is not something we are ever going to see.

Even 22 Years Later, Kill Bill Is Still a Crown Jewel in Tarantino's Filmography

Either way, Kill Bill is Quentin Tarantino's ultimate love letter to all the weird, offbeat, and goofy movies he watched while working at the video store.

Ridiculously eclectic, Kill Bill moves effortlessly from dark noir to samurai action, from neo-western to anime, from 1960s grindhouse references to Alfred Hitchcock.

What sounds like a crazy mess comes together as a stunning mosaic as the beautiful and dangerous Uma Thurman fights her way through numerous obstacles with only one goal – revenge.
