A perfect option for those who are preparing their body for the upcoming summer.

While many of us are used to thinking vegetables can’t be a delicious garnish, this recipe might soon prove them wrong. Instead of boiling broccoli for whatever type of meal you’re preparing, just try roasting them — and you’ll get the best side dish that won’t do any harm to your figure.

The simplest ingredients are required, and the cooking time won’t bother you either, since it’s the oven that will do most of the work.

Here’s what you need: 400 g of broccoli (split into florets; stems roughly chopped), 2 tbsp of olive oil, salt and black pepper to taste, 1 tablespoon of granulated garlic (optional), 1 tablespoon of granulated onion (optional), 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds (optional).

Preheat the oven to 180°C (or 160°C on the convection setting). Place the broccoli on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and granulated garlic and onion (if desired).

Mix thoroughly with your hands, spreading the florets and stem pieces in a single layer.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, shaking the baking sheet occasionally. The broccoli should become tender and develop crispy edges.
