Stop Buying Sweets! These Japanese-Style Milk Melts Take Just Minutes to Prep
You definitely need to try these if you’re a moti fan.
Despite Japan being mostly famous thanks to non-sweet dishes like sushi or ramen, the country’s cuisine can still offer some desserts that went viral back in the day. It’s likely you at least heard of the moti that just melts in your mouth; however, there’s one more Japanese sweet treat you have to try. Just four essential ingredients, and milky dessert resembling moti is at your table.
Here’s what you need: 200 ml of milk, 20 g of potato starch, 40 g of glutinous rice flour, three teaspoons of sugar, a pinch of salt.
Place all the ingredients in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. You should end up with a firm ball that doesn’t stick to the sides of the pan.
Spoon the mixture onto a plate and shape it into a rectangle using a silicone spatula greased with vegetable oil.
Place the dessert in the fridge for half an hour, then cut it into squares or roll the dough into balls.
