'Stranger Things' Cast Names Their Favorite Movies – See if Your Tastes Align
From dark fantasy and cult horror films to touching animations and intellectual dramas.
Paradoxically, Stranger Things' sinister world, which is inhabited by cruel scientists and monsters from an underground dimension, has become a cozy home for many. The walls of this world are covered with posters of favorite movies and '80s music bands.
Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo are actors who have grown up before our eyes. They have transformed from young talents into accomplished artists with their own distinct tastes and perspectives.
In a recent Letterboxd interview, the Stranger Things stars revealed their film preferences, each naming four movies that hold a special place in their hearts.
Sadie Sink

Among Sadie Sink's favorites was Guillermo del Toro's visually stunning and dark Pan's Labyrinth, which blends fairy tales with the horrors of war. Next to it was the intimate and emotional drama about friendship, Close.
Sadie's list of favorite movies includes two comedies: the cult classic School of Rock with Jack Black and Christopher Guest's satirical mockumentary Waiting for Guffman, about a provincial theater troupe.
Finn Wolfhard

Finn Wolfhard's list is dominated by classic movies that clearly influenced the atmosphere of Stranger Things.
These include the action-adventure movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the cult horror flick An American Werewolf in London, and the British teen drama Quadrophenia.
The list is rounded out by Paul Thomas Anderson's psychological period drama, Phantom Thread, which explores the complex relationship between an artist and his muse.
Gaten Matarazzo

Gaten Matarazzo seems to have put together the most heartfelt and diverse list. It includes the classic Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and the Pixar animation Finding Nemo.
The real gems of his selection, however, are the intellectual dramas: the classic story of love and memory, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and the modern musical Once.
When Will 'Stranger Things' Season 5 Be Released?
