Wayward Sisters was such a promising spinoff, and this Supernatural character would have gotten it off the ground in no time.

Supernatural was a hit for 15 years, so naturally The CW wanted to milk that cow through expanding the universe in the spinoff shows. Unfortunately, only one series (out of three) got greenlit for a season – and even it was canceled shortly afterward.

Wayward Sisters had a great premise, as the idea of sisterhood would have mirrored Supernatural’s family theme. Jody, Donna, and their adoptive kids all had great chemistry and lots of opportunities for stories, and yet viewers weren’t interested in them at the time.

Well, one original Supernatural character could have easily fixed that. Mrs. Linda Tran, Kevin’s feisty mom, would have been a great addition to Wayward Sisters (as one Reddit user pointed out).

Linda is a fascinating character with a complex backstory. She lost her son to the supernatural stuff, and yet she is still fighting the good fight. Mrs. Tran was an awesome mom to Kevin, she’s incredibly smart, courageous, and resourceful, so it’s quite easy to picture her raising the next generation alongside Jody and Donna.

Plus, Linda is the only one who thought of holy water guns and demon bombs, and those were groundbreaking inventions in the monster-hunting business. Imagine what else she could have come up with, given the chance and the knowledge!

If Mrs. Tran had gotten the Winchester training, she would have easily become the next Bobby (not that Bobby is replaceable in any way). She could have been their base, helped them out on difficult cases, and been their emergency monster contact.

Supernatural was known to kill off or write off strong female characters, and Mrs. Tran eventually got the axe in season 9, too. It’s a shame because she was definitely underutilized by the show and could have had the most interesting story arcs further on.

We can just picture how hilarious it would have been if Linda had gotten the chance to fuss over Jack in the later seasons. No Lucifer would be able to pass through!
