Terry begins a secret affair with Sylvia, his boss's wife. One night, Sylvia hears a scream, when she runs to the window, she witnesses a crime in the park. An unknown assailant has attacked a woman, and only thanks to Sylvia has she survived.

The only thing left to do is go to the police and have a composite sketch of the perpetrator made. However, Sylvia cannot do this because she fears her husband will discover her affair. Wanting to protect his mistress, Terry lies to the police, claiming that he saw the perpetrator.

The lie quickly escalates, turning into a chain of fatal consequences. Terry can't answer most of the questions, and the police suspect he's hiding something because of a series of inconsistencies.
