It’s probably been Zack Snyder’s toughest week ever.

Summary:

  • Zack Snyder’s most recent flop Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver never made it to enjoy being on Netflix ’s top for a long time as it has just been dethroned by Sydney Sweeney ’s romcom hit.
  • The movie is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s famous play and follows a couple who gets a second chance to sort their relationships out.
  • The film eventually got to be last year’s biggest hit garnering more than $200 million in the box office.

It took only three days for Zack Snyder’s sequel for his 2023 Rebel Moon to get to Netflix’s top, but it also took three days for Sydney Sweeney’s Anyone But You to topple Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver from the same chart.

The actress’ romcom has been a subject for everyone’s talks ever since its theatrical release in 2023 — and now the movie is restoring its position after officially landing on Netflix.

What Is Anyone But You About?

Anyone But You was quick to become a number one hit on Netflix after it was released on April 23. Loosely based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, the romcom follows Bea and Ben, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell respectively, who, after a seemingly perfect date, somehow feel like their chemistry got cold due to a big misunderstanding.

The two decide to go separate ways until they’re brought back together at a charming wedding in Australia six months later. Forced by fate to deal with their issues with each other, the characters then make an attempt to give it all a second flow by pretending to be a real couple.

Is It Worth Watching?

Though the story didn’t seem very charming to the critics who left it with 55% on Rotten Tomatoes, Anyone But You nonetheless got a lot of love from numerous fans across the world.

The movie managed to gross almost $220 million in the box office against the budget of only $25 million and making it up to the professionals’ skepticism with 87% from the audience.

Anyone But You’s blast on Netflix was pretty much expected given the overall buzz around the movie upon its release.

Now that last year’s biggest romcom has finally arrived to the streaming, it won’t be much of a surprise to hear everyone talking about it once again.
