In this case, don't listen to Mr. Tarantino and just watch this charming, life-affirming gem.
Quentin Tarantino continues to share his uncompromising view of 21st-century cinema. This time, another famous actor has come under fire.
Just days after calling Paul Dano's performance in There Will Be Blood "weak sauce," the director offered some surprising criticism of the star of Woody Allen's cult romantic comedy, Midnight in Paris.
Quentin Tarantino Says Watching 'Midnight in Paris' Was a Controversial Experience – Because of Owen Wilson
Despite placing the movie in his personal top 10, Tarantino's opinion of its lead character was highly controversial.
In an episode of The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast, Quentin admitted that he included Midnight in Paris in his list of favorite films of the century. However, he has mixed feelings about the film's lead actor, Owen Wilson:
“Oddly enough, I really can't stand Owen Wilson. I mean, I can't stand him. And I spent the first time watching the movie loving it and hating him.
The second time I watched the movie, I was like 'Okay, don't be such a prick. He's not so bad. He's not so bad.' And then the third time I watched it I found myself watching him.”
What Is 'Midnight in Paris' About?

Hollywood screenwriter Gil Pender (Owen Wilson) arrives in Paris with his fiancée. Frustrated by his commercial work and the growing distance in his relationship, he dreams of leaving Hollywood to become a real writer.
At the stroke of midnight, he is magically transported to the Paris of the past, where he meets legendary figures: Ernest Hemingway, Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Salvador Dalí, and Gertrude Stein.
This time-traveling adventure becomes an escape from reality and a lesson in finding true happiness in the present moment.
'Midnight in Paris' Was a Box Office and Critical Success, Thanks to Owen Wilson's Performance

Despite Tarantino's personal dislike of Owen Wilson, it's undeniable that Wilson played a significant role in the movie's success.
Midnight in Paris became one of Woody Allen's highest-grossing films, earning over $150 million on a modest budget and winning an Oscar for Best Screenplay.
Wilson, primarily known for comedic roles, brilliantly portrayed the uncharacteristic role of a sensitive, dreamy romantic and was the perfect guide into this nostalgic world.
