The Yellowstone-related series has suddenly been brought back to life while Sheridan’s other show keeps its record-breaking run on Paramount+.

While it’s time for Taylor Sheridan ’s Landman to embark on its season 2 production, the writer-director’s other ongoing series have recently had their best time in the biggest streamers’ global top charts.

Premiering back in February, a second prequel to Sheridan’s Yellowstone titled 1923 has become a record-breaking deal for Paramount+, garnering millions of viewers for its first episode.

With the show still having several more episodes to run with until April 13, Sheridan’s other prequel series has suddenly emerged in Netflix ’s charts roughly 3 years after concluding with just one instalment.

1883 Is Trending on Netflix Amidst 1923’s Success on Paramount+

Coming off the global success of Yellowstone that wrapped up after 5 seasons back in 2024, both 1883 and 1923 were created by Taylor Sheridan as prequels to the original series, exploring the life of the Dutton family’s previous generations as they had to navigate through hard times in the Wild West.

The latter is currently back on track with its second and final season on Paramount+, which is probably what prompted Netflix’s audiences to go back to Yellowstone’s roots too.

Released in 2021 and concluded the following year, 1883 was a major success back then and is getting a second life on Netflix right now, sitting at the 7th position in the streamer’s global top, according to FlixPatrol.

With its events unfolding the same year, 1883 follows the Dutton family’s post-Civil War generation leaving Tennessee before eventually settling in Montana where they will come to own a land later on known as the Yellowstone Ranch.

Meanwhile, 1923 Is The Biggest Hit in Paramount+’s History

As 1883 continues its successful streak as a new hit on Netflix, its fellow prequel series 1923 keeps ruling over the platform that has been long considered home to most of Taylor Sheridan’s hit projects.

With only 4 episodes in, the show is officially the most successful series launched on Paramount+’s platform with the biggest opening that gathered more than 5 million viewers when the second season’s premiere episode aired on February 23.

The series starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford will continue its run on Paramount+ till April 13, later followed by Sheridan’s two other prequel shows titled 6666 and 1944; the release dates for the upcoming follow-ups haven’t been revealed yet.
