Taylor Sheridan’s Next Yellowstone Spinoff, Explained
Things are currently on hold for the Dutton family after 1923’s season 2 finale, but there’s a chance we’ll meet someone very familiar in Sheridan’s next sequel show to Yellowstone — here’s everything we know about it so far.
Even with the flagship series being all over, Taylor Sheridan ’s Yellowstone franchise won’t go anywhere anytime soon.
Right now the Western universe is getting several more expansions, and one of those is likely to have very little to do with the Duttons themselves.
While the family’s history will be explored even further in Sheridan’s spinoff series titled 1944, another one called The Madison will take a closer look at a completely different story, but there’s a reason to believe the Duttons will make it to the show after all.
How The Madison Might Be Connected to Yellowstone, Explained
The future series starring Michelle Pfeiffer in the leading role will see its events unfolding after Yellowstone’s finale, with a new Clyburn family moving to Montana from New York.
Since their new home is also the place where the Duttons have their ranch, it’s likely that the Clyburns will somehow get to know those who remained there, with those being Beth, Rip, Kayce and Monica Dutton.
So far it’s not clear yet how exactly the Duttons and the Clyburns will be tied after all, but the simplest suggestion right now is that they’ll eventually become neighbours or will just live close to each other, and the Duttons will show up to help the newcomers to get used to how things are in Montana.

It might be that 1923’s finale still hits hard, but some aren’t really sure that much of the Yellowstone expansion is worth the shot.
“I will admit this Madison sequel sounds so disinteresting (apparently a couple from New York comes to Montana or something) maybe it’s a “from the outsiders POV compared to how Yellowstone is the “Insiders POV” of a montannian seeing all this gentrification… I WILL admit that it could work and maybe I’m just use to the “cowboy aspect” of the other shows/spinoffs I’ll go in with an open mind though”, obiwanTrollnobi6 commented in a thread.
Meanwhile, Yeahdude434 admitted that “this new upcoming series has me scratching my head….Why is it that The Madison is centered around a NYC family who settles in Montana when literally the entire concept of Yellowstone was to demonize those types of people and to stop them from coming at any cost? Is that idea not completely counterproductive to the narrative of the Yellowstone universe?”.
“Seeing Michelle Pfeiffer again would be great, always thought she was wonderful. But I’m a little fed up with Sheridan as a story teller. Early seasons of Yellowstone were great but it’s become a joke. I don’t want to start another Sheridan series just to see it devolve”, bekah-Mc wrote.
When Is The Madison Being Released?
It’s not yet clear when exactly the show is premiering, but the production is rumoured to start this August. The Madison will most likely be dropped sometime next year on Paramount+.
