The third and final season of the once acclaimed show seems to be increasingly disappointing for many fans.

Ted Lasso, an American sports comedy-drama TV series starring Jason Sudeikis as the titular coach, had an exceptionally good start, with the first two seasons receiving a really warm reception from both critics and fans.

But since the beginning of season 3, the show seems to be experiencing a significant decline in quality, and after it was revealed in March 2023 that it will also be a final season for the series, fans find it especially pitiful.

Despite the creators' statement that it was always planned as a three-season story ark, many fans say that it doesn't feel like a satisfying finale at all.

According to them, it is just a bunch of storylines jumbled together, and the character arcs are more like a flatline, making it feel like a filler season despite its supposed importance.

The characters are almost never in the same room together, which is reminiscent of the pandemic-era seasons of various shows, when actors had to shoot their scenes separately to be edited together later.

And it all looks like the writers are just filling time before the final match between two teams.

While not terrible by any means, it is still not as good as the first two, and considering that it will be the last, fans are extremely disappointed.

Although there are those who enjoy it, the majority of the fanbase seems less than thrilled, saying that there are barely more episodes they liked than those they disliked.

This whole situation is eerily similar to what happened to Disney 's The Mandalorian. While the first two seasons were highly praised, the third season felt very much like filler, which led to many fans complaining as well.

The characters' arcs had little meaning, and even though it was not the finale of the series, it was apparently the end of the main arc with Moff Gideon.

And just like with Ted Lasso, there were people who liked it, but they were in the minority.

Episode 10 of Ted Lasso season 3 will premiere on May 17, 2023.
