Seriously, is there any character that Jeff Davis didn't waste in the new movie?

Teen Wolf: The Movie was pretty hard for the fandom to take, as it seems that show creator Jeff Davis was on a mission to piss off as many fans as possible.

Not only did the movie eliminate major characters like Stiles and Kira, break up iconic pairings, and introduce new characters with little to no explanation, but it also ruined some of the OG characters. One such character who ended up being practically wasted in the movie is Malia Tate.

Teen Wolf Star Reveals Movie Was Shot Without Script Until Last Moment

Despite being a major character with a complicated journey in the series, Malia was apparently reduced by the movie to someone you can always use for a hot sex scene and then never bother to develop her story further. Who cares about a tragic backstory and a four-season character journey she had on the show when you can just have her date Parrish and jump on him naked in her very first scene?

"I WAS gonna watch the Teen Wolf movie just so I could make fun of it, but after seeing that Malia x Parrish scene and Derek spoiler, I'm not sure I can do it," Twitter user dmvlfoys said.

The fact that the Teen Wolf movie is likely the last time fans will see Malia and the rest of the OG characters makes their sidelining even more painful. Did we really spend so much time with Malia only to have her thrown in for comic (and sexual) relief?

"Was so excited to see her back but idk why but she wasn't as much fun as she was in the show... She didn't [have] a storyline and she was just there. She didn't even [have] a fight scene?!" Twitter user Broodsters complained.

The complete ignorance of Malia's character development, along with several major plot holes and unexplained changes, has led fans to treat Teen Wolf: The Movie the same way many Harry Potter fans treat the Cursed Child play: they choose to pretend it never existed.

Teen Wolf: The Movie is currently available for streaming on Paramount Plus.
