In The Deathly Hallows, Bill Weasley helped the Golden Trio out and did his best to keep them out of trouble… Instead, he lowkey put Harry up to a crime sequence.

After escaping the Malfoy Manor, Harry, Ron, and Hermione ended up in the Shell Cottage where Bill Weasley and his wife Fleur Delacour lived.

Since they've been through a lot and needed time to heal and put a new plan of action together, Bill and Fleur allowed the trio to stay with them for a while and took good care of the friends.

But Harry and his squad were on a hunt for Horcruxes which didn't allow for that long of a break: they needed to get to the next piece of the Dark Lord's soul.

In the Malfoy Manor, the Golden Trio learned that one of the Horcruxes was likely hidden in Gringotts, inside the Lestrange family vault, so they had to get there next.

Fortunately, they had come across Griphook — one of Gringotts' ex-employees, an insidious goblin with a passion for artifacts created by his people.

In exchange for helping the trio get inside the bank, Griphook demanded that he got the Sword of Gryffindor… Which Harry desperately needed to be able to destroy the Horcruxes.

The negotiations between Harry and Griphook were happening right under Bill Weasley's nose, so he totally noticed something was off.

With the best intentions in mind, Bill decided to talk to Harry and prevent potential tragedy from happening: he was specifically concerned about his young guest trying to deal with a goblin.

"It would be less dangerous to break into Gringotts than to renege on a promise to a goblin," warns Bill. Little did he know that Harry was in fact planning to do both those things!

Without realizing it, Bill Weasley foreshadowed future events with his advice.

He was not certain what kind of deal Harry was making with Griphook, so he just wanted to warn him about the goblins' business ethics; and he used the phrase "break into Gringotts" as a simple metaphor for attempting something impossible.

Still, his warning hit not one, but two sweet spots without Bill even acknowledging it: in a few days, Harry would break into Gringotts and try to renege on his promise to a goblin.

He would actually go even beyond that by stealing one of the bank's dragons and breaking half the building while escaping on it.

We can't stop laughing when we imagine Bill's face when he heard about that in the news.

He must have stopped for a second, recalled his recent dialogue with Harry, and punched himself in the face, whispering "Son of a…" under his nose to avoid alerting Fleur.
