A smoky sausage filling can turn basic mash into a total crispy masterpiece.

This lightning-fast snack shortcut relies on a brilliant mix of creamy seasoned potatoes and savory sausage cubes sealed inside an intensely crunchy crust. It comes together in just twenty minutes using cheap, basic pantry staples. Serve them blazing hot as a standalone movie-night snack, a dipping appetizer for friends, or a fun replacement for your usual weekday side dish.

Ingredients: 800 g of potatoes, 1 egg, 30 g of butter, 2 tablespoons of potato starch, 1 teaspoon of dried garlic, 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika, 200 g of cooked sausage or servelat, 100 g of breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper to taste, 2 tablespoons of melted butter.

Boil the potatoes until tender and mash them. Add the butter, egg, starch, paprika, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth.

Dice the sausage into small cubes and stir into the potato mixture. Shape into small round patties about 1.5–2 cm thick, resembling large coins. Coat each patty in breadcrumbs.

When cooking in an air fryer, place the croquettes in the basket and cook at 200°C for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

If cooking in a skillet, melt the butter and fry the croquettes on both sides until golden brown.
