It's not like The Boys is the show that's supposed to make you cry your heart out, but this one scene, though...

When watching The Boys, one usually grins, laughs out loud, gasps for air, or does everything at the same time. Crying is not usually included in the list, but season 3 clearly decided to go "hold my beer" mode and break our hearts... with Black Noir arc.

One of the most vicious henchmen of The Vought, Black Noir is mute and brain-damaged, and until recently, it only made him more intimidating and unpredictable. However, in season 3, we got to know more about him and his disturbing backstory that also involved Jensen Ackles ' Soldier Boy.

It turns out, Black Noir's cruelty stems from the horrors he had to go through in his past. Soldier Boy abused him, just like the rest of Team Payback, and he was the one responsible for Black Noir's brain injury.

In season 3, it was truly heartbreaking to watch all those animated characters that Black Noir hallucinated with as the mute superhero struggled to process his trauma.

The most tragic part here is that Black Noir never even had enough brain function to walk away from the horrible trap he found himself in after he and the rogue Team Payback gave Soldier Boy to the Russians.

And naturally, watching Black Noir playing the Soldier Boy attack over and over again in his disfigured head is just painful. All of the cartoon characters almost make it surreal; after all, fun children animation is the last thing you'd expect from someone as vicious as Black Noir.

Oh, and here we are, making it even more heart-wrenching for you: right after Black Noir finally finds the courage to "f-f-face" Soldier Boy, he gets killed... by Homelander, Soldier Boy's yet-to-be-discovered son.

If something can be even more tragically ironic, we're waiting. The twist was as tragic as it was anticlimactic for many fans: right after we get to know Black Noir and even develop sympathy for him, the promising character is immediately killed off.

Ah, just leave us there in the corner to cry a little bit.
