Maggie Gyllenhaal directed a bright and bold gothic crime movie with no connection to Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
2. 'Hokum'

Horror novelist Ohm Bauman embarks on a trip to Ireland to scatter his parents' ashes. While staying at a hotel, he begins to realize that an otherworldly force lurks there.
The movie was written and directed by Damian McCarthy. McCarthy is not widely known, but horror fans may remember him from the critically acclaimed Oddity. Adam Scott, star of the TV series Severance, plays the lead role.
3. 'Clayface'

Matt Hagen is an actor who stars in cheap B-movies. One day, a criminal attacks him, leaving him disfigured. Seeking salvation, he turns to a fringe scientist who, in a botched experiment, turns him into a clay creature.
In the revamped DC Cinematic Universe, audiences are promised more than just feel-good films like Superman. Clayface is set to be the first body horror film in the universe.
Mike Flanagan, creator of The Haunting of Hill House, wrote the screenplay, and James Watkins, known for The Woman in Black, is set to direct.
4. 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come'

Grace survived a deadly game with her fiancé but the horror doesn't end there. Now, she must protect her estranged younger sister, Faith. Together, the sisters must defeat four powerful families.
The first installment was a brutal yet funny horror in which the main character hid in a house from her pursuers. As befits a sequel, the action in the next installment will be more ambitious. Samara Weaving will be joined by Elijah Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
5. 'Evil Dead Burn'

The plot of the new Evil Dead movie is still under wraps. It likely won't be directly connected to the original films but will instead focus on curses that awaken Deadites and compel people to kill.
The movie is directed by the relatively unknown French filmmaker Sébastien Vaniček, whose only previous work includes the horror movie Infested. However, the producers include original director Sam Raimi, Lee Cronin, director of one of the spinoffs, and actor Bruce Campbell.
