Time to return from the Galaxy Far Far Away, huh?

After the second and final season of Andor, Diego Luna has the intention to return to the theater. To take care of his own mental health. And a healthy sleep.

According to Variety, the actor plans to take a break from the big and small screen and focus his career on the theater. At least until he recovers mentally.

"Theater is a great way to go back and put your feet on the ground and remind you what this is all about," Luna said.

Diego Luna is known for his diverse career. His father, Alejandro Luna, worked as a set designer, and as a teenager Diego managed to appear in various Mexican theater productions, TV shows and then in movies.

Nevertheless, it seems that nothing but the theater became a kind of outlet for his energies.

For example, after the first season of Andor was finally filmed, Diego Luna spent two months on stage in Madrid in the comedy performance (only consisting of him and a musician) Cada vez nos despedimos mejor, the events of which take place in Mexico between 1979 and the 2012 elections.

The Madrid project clearly gave the actor a much-needed sense of calm, in contrast to the regular moves, large sets and high budgets invested in the now-popular show set in the Star Wars universe. And apparently a good night's sleep, too.

"There's one another thing I love about theater: you sleep every night in the same bed," he noted.

The narrative set during the reign of the Galactic Emperor (five years prior to A New Hope), the title role, and the fate of other characters who sacrifice everything to fight the dictatorship in the name of universal freedom clearly had a strong influence on the actor.

As Luna shares his interpretation, "For me, this has always been a story where the people bringing change, the ones you can call heroes, are just regular people doing extraordinary things."

Certainly, the issues raised in the series touch not only our hearts, but also our minds. Our best wishes to Diego Luna for a quick mental recovery and continued success in his career.

According to its showrunner, Tony Gilroy, season 2 of Andor began filming on November 21, 2022, and will continue until at least April 2023.
