'The Fantastic Four First Steps': How Many Post-Credit Scenes There Are, Explained

The Fantastic Four: First Steps, in the best tradition of Marvel blockbusters, ends with post-credit scenes that tease future projects, and here's what they show.
There are two post-credits scenes in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The first one features a mysterious man in a green cloak – and it is the first appearance of Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We tell you what this means for future projects and what was shown in the second post-credit scene.
The First Scene Marks the Debut of Doctor Doom in the MCU
The Fantastic Four fought the world-devourer Galactus and convinced the Silver Surfer to help them. Galactus was then thrown into a distant galaxy through a portal.
However, a new threat appeared in the first scene after the credits. The episode's action took place four years after the battle with Galactus.
Sue was reading a book to her son when she suddenly noticed a mysterious man in a green cloak standing next to the boy. The man was holding an iron mask. Franklin wasn't afraid of the stranger – he reached out to him and looked at the intruder with interest.
The man's identity was not revealed, but it is obvious that he is Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. He will be the main villain in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be released on December 18, 2026, and December 17, 2027, respectively.
Doctor Doom May Try To Kidnap Franklin In Future Movies
In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it wasn't explicitly stated which world Doctor Doom is from. However, in the post-credits scene, it's clear that Sue doesn't recognize him.
At the same time, during the scene with representatives of different countries, the flag of his country, Latveria, is visible, despite the absence of a representative at the table. Perhaps Doctor Doom learned of a multiversal problem and decided to solve it with Franklin's help.
After First Steps, Doom may kidnap Franklin and travel to Earth-616 or neighboring worlds. This is suggested in the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts*, where the Fantastic Four arrive in the dimension of the New Avengers.
The Second Scene Is a Tribute to the Fantastic Four's History
The second post-credits scene featured the opening title of the animated series about the team. It featured the Fantastic Four's enemies, the Mole Man and the Red Ghost.
Red Ghost was supposed to appear in the movie, played by John Malkovich, but scenes with his participation were cut.
This post-credit scene is simply a reference to the 1994 animated series Fantastic Four and to classic Marvel animated series in general.
