The Genius Muffin-Tin Veggie Hack That Makes the Ultimate On-the-Go Snack
These charming, golden veggie baskets look like they took hours of delicate work but are actually the most convenient snack to pack for a busy day.
Even though miniature stuffed pastries usually look like a luxury that requires advanced culinary skills and meticulous preparation, you don’t need to be a professional chef to impress your family.
This colorful combination of a crisp, flaky crust and a juicy, seasoned veggie filling is the ultimate way to get a neat, portable bite that will make your quick lunches feel like a small celebration.
Ingredients: 160 g of yeast dough, 1 tablespoon of wheat flour, 150 g of cooked turkey sausage, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 tomato, 2 tbsp of butter, 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, 0.5 tsp of seasoning, 1 tbsp of sour cream, 1 egg, salt to taste.
Prepare the yeast dough, lightly dust the work surface with flour, and roll it out into a thin sheet; then cut out small circles.
Peel and finely chop the onion and carrot, then fry them in a mixture of vegetable and butter.
Add the chopped tomato and simmer briefly, then stir in the grated sausage and remove from heat, allowing the filling to cool slightly. After that, add the seasoning, egg white, and salt, and mix thoroughly.
Prepare the baking tins and place a dough circle in each one, shaping them into baskets.
Fill them with the vegetable and sausage filling and lightly brush the edges with sour cream. Let the pastries rest in a warm place for a while, then brush the tops with beaten egg yolk.
Bake the baskets in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Once cooled, carefully remove them from the tins and serve.
