The third season of HBO's period drama takes viewers back to New York on the cusp of the Industrial Revolution. Following the never-ending feud between the old money aristocrats and the self-made rich, The Gilded Age is sure to bring more drama, more scandal and more stunning costumes to viewers' screens.

While all of the show's original stars, including Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Cynthia Nixon and Christine Baranski, are expected to return for another round in New York society, the show continues to strengthen its positions by introducing new characters to the story. 4 more Tony winners and nominees have been added to the cast.

Phylicia Rashad and Brian Stokes Mitchell

Phylicia Rashad and Brian Stokes Mitchell will star as Mrs. Elizabeth Kirkland and her husband, Frederick Kirkland. Frederick, a pastor of a Black church, is one of the prominent figures in the Newport community. His wife, Elizabeth, is a woman of high standards who refuses to compromise on any issue.

Their son, Dr. William Kirkland, is portrayed by Jordan Donica. Inspired by his childhood visit to Arthur Scott's pharmacy, William has grown into a kind-hearted doctor who is much more open-minded than the conservative elders of his family.

Victoria Clark

Victoria Clark is the only new cast member not related to the Kirkland family. She will play a kind and intelligent woman who comes from old money. Joan Carlton is the mother of Billy Carlton, whom Gladys Russell met at dances and seemed to take a special interest in.

Given Bertha's efforts to match her daughter with a Duke of Buckingham instead, Joan will find herself in a very uncomfortable position with the Russell family. If you are interested in seeing how the Carltons and Kirklands will fit into the show, be sure to keep an eye out for the premiere date.
