The Gilded Age premiered on Max in 2022 and has since become one of HBO's most successful period dramas. The show has an 86% Rotten Tomatoes score and holds 8/10 on IMDb.

The show currently has 2 seasons, with season 3 confirmed for 2023 and coming to the platform later in 2025.

While there is no news on the release date, HBO recently teased fans of the show with a new promotional video. And it is the first significant update in months for season 3 of The Gilded Age, which also offers a peek at stars Carrie Coon and Christine Baranski.

The fans of the show noticed a glimpse of their favorite couple holding hands in the park and are now absolutely excited about the upcoming chapter.

What Is The Gilded Age About?

The Gilded Age is a period drama about New York City in the late 19th century and the complicated class system in the bustling American megapolis. With its main characters divided into old money and new money systems, the show follows both groups and their attempts to coexist in one society.

At the center of all the attention is the Russell family, which includes Morgan Spector's George as the patriarch and Carrie Coon's Bertha as his rather ambitious wife. Caught in the middle of their parents' never-ending drama are Larry and Gladys Russel, who both have their own agendas in New York's elite society.

What Will The Gilded Age Season 3 Center On?

The previous two seasons were pretty intense and full of events, which made the anticipation for the new season even greater.

Earlier, Christine Baranski's Agnes told Deadline that her character will face a tough time in the upcoming season due to the changing dynamic between her and her sister.

Another storyline to wait for is the one that hints at the drama between the Russel couple, and as the show's executive revealed, fans will see their marriage "under pressure." Of course we all know why that is: the latest thing Bertha did in season 2 was promise her daughter to the Duke of Buckingham, something George was not too happy about.
