The Hyde in ‘Wednesday’ Isn’t Hunter Doohan’s Only Dark Role — Here’s Where Else to See Him

Netflix’s Wednesday is surely one of the most talked-about releases this year just due to all those plot twists and cliffhangers it’s about to explain in the second season’s part 2.

Apart from Larissa Weems’ return and Wednesday’s ongoing investigation, the upcoming episodes will also feature much more of Hunter Doohan’s Tyler aka the Hyde. He is now out there to bring his former love interest to justice after everything Wednesday has done to him. Or maybe to get back together...

Now that there’s two more weeks left until Wednesday’s next premiere, there’s still time to watch something else starring Doohan as one of the leads. Here’s a full list for you to choose from.

‘Soundwave’ (2018)

Starring Hunter Doohan in the leading role, this sci-fi thriller centres on a teenage inventor who, with some help from a nefarious group, discovers his ability to eavesdrop on sounds from the past.

The movie marks Doohan’s acting debut and features an impressive performance framed into the eerie atmosphere as Doohan’s character struggles to keep his superpower under control.

Despite becoming a critical darling, Soundwave went a bit under the radar for most viewers, though Wednesday’s fans should have already checked the flick out.

‘Last Patrol on Okinawa’ (2021)

Based on true events, the short drama follows several US Marines, including Doohan’s Jimmy “Fish” Morris, as they clear caves in Okinawa that turned into a shelter for civilians and hidden Japanese soldiers in 1945.

Like Soundwave, Last Patrol in Okinawa is also a hidden gem due to its short format and relatively unknown cast at the time of its release back in 2021.

However, relying on its atmospheric portrayal of wartime uncertainty, the film is a compelling watch for everyone who was looking for an opportunity to see Doohan in a role completely different from Wednesday’s.

‘Schooled’ (2019 — 2020)

• On IMDb, the show rates 6.8/10

Starring Hunter Doohan in a guest role in one episode only, Schooled is a sitcom that came as a direct spinoff to ABC’s The Goldbergs.

The show is set in the 1990s and primarily follows the original show’s character Lainey Lewis who returns to her William Penn Academy in Pennsylvania as a new music teacher.

Things have changed quite radically there, with old teachers getting higher positions and new ones struggling to get adjusted to a new environment. While still trying to figure out her life, Lainey establishes frenemy relationships with Charlie "C.B." Brown, another young teacher.

‘Your Honor’ (2020 — )

• On Rotten Tomatoes, Your Honor holds scores of 49% and 67% from critics and viewers
• On IMDb, the show is rated 7.6/10

The legal drama series stars Bryan Cranston Michael Desiato, a New Orleans judge who gets involved in the most important case of his career when his son Adam, portrayed by Doohan, kills another teenager in a hit-and-run accident.

It’s soon revealed that the killed boy was none other than the son of a mob kingpin, but Michael will do whatever it takes to protect his son — even if it means getting into an even more entangled web of secrets, conspiracies and mysteries that will lead to yet another big tragedy.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (2025 — )

• On Rotten Tomatoes, Daredevil: Born Again has scores of 87% and 80% from critics and audiences
• On IMDb, the show’s rating is 8.1/10

Marvel’s revival of Daredevil’s story that hit Disney+ this year, the show picks the story up several years after the eponymous character aka blind lawyer Matt Murdock stopped saving the city as masked vigilante Daredevil.

The show might feature Doohan’s biggest role yet (on par with Wednesday) since here he appears as Bastian Cooper aka Muse, one of the essential antagonists and a serial killer that keeps terrorising the city with horrifying murders.

Even though Cooper’s storyline arc seemingly comes to its end in the first season, Doohan might be reprising his role in the second season as well.
