This version of the famous and delicious dessert is a perfect option for those preferring diary-free dishes.

We all are used to thinking that the best sweet treats are also the ones that do a significant harm to our figure or even our health. However, it’s been a long time since those with a sweet tooth have invented many hacks of how to enjoy their favorite dessert without feeling guilty.

This recipe for cherry brownie might also become your life-saver if you were looking for something extremely delicious and diary-free at the same time.

Here’s what you need: 100 ml of vegetable oil, 250 ml of water, 180 g of sugar, 300 g of flour (2 cups, 250 ml each), 35 g of cocoa powder, 1 packet (11 g) of baking powder, 0.5 tsp of salt, 150 g of pitted cherries (canned), 30 g of chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts, as you like), 1 tbsp of powdered sugar for decoration.

Sieve the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt, then mix the dry ingredients together.

Dissolve the sugar in water until completely absorbed. Add the sugar water and vegetable oil to the dry mixture, then mix the dough thoroughly with a spoon until smooth.

Stir the cherries and chopped nuts into the dough. You can use almond slivers, any other nuts, or just leave them out entirely.

Cover the baking pan with parchment paper and spread the batter into it. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180 °C and bake the brownies for 35–40 minutes. Let the finished cake cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and cut into squares.
