The No-Mess Chicken Sandwich: The Ultimate Leak-Proof Recipe for Work & Picnics
After this recipe, you won’t have to figure out what to bring to work for lunch anymore.
If you’ve ever tried preparing sandwiches for picnics or just having something for lunch at work, it’s likely you know how disappointing it is to see all the sauce being gone from the actual sandwich. Well, the problem can be easily solved — just start preparing sandwiched using this recipe; the same simplest ingredients are required.
Here’s what you need: half a French baguette, 270 g of chicken breast, 30 g of hard cheese, 100 g of tomato, 3 sprigs of dill, 2 bay leaves, 5 allspice berries, salt and ground black pepper to taste, vegetable oil for frying.
Rinse the chicken breast and boil it in salted water with a bay leaf and allspice. Cook until fully done, then remove and pat dry.
To give the meat more flavor, lightly season it with salt and pepper and fry it in a pan with a small amount of vegetable oil until it develops a light golden crust. Then let it cool and slice it into thin strips.
Cut the baguette into serving-sized pieces and carefully slit each piece lengthwise, without cutting all the way through, to create a “pocket” for the filling.
Slice the tomato into thin rounds and the cheese into slices. Rinse and dry the dill.
Start assembling the sandwich: place the tomatoes on the bottom half of the baguette and lightly salt them. Add the dill, then the chicken breast and cheese slices.
Cover with the top half of the baguette and press down gently.
