The most romantic scene from The Office likely means a lot to John Krasinski.

In the premiere episode of The Office season 2, titled The Dundies, our favorite Pam has a bit too much to drink at Chili's. She's super happy not to be reminded about her never-ending engagement, so she surprises Jim with a quick, unexpected kiss. But, truth be told, it was more of a tipsy move than a truly romantic one.

But if you remember the season 2 finale, Casino Night, — this is where the real magic happens. Jim pours his heart out to Pam, confessing his love.

And we witness a deep, heartfelt kiss at his desk. While they did share a moment during the premiere episode, it's the finale that truly marks their first real kiss.

It was a special moment for these two characters, but most surprisingly, this moment was also special for John Krasinski, the actor who portrayed Jim. During his appearance on a podcast by Earwolf, he revealed why this scene stands out for him.

“That was my first acting kiss ever,” said Krasinski.

The Casino Night kiss wasn't just a spur-of-the-moment thing. It was filled with intention and emotion. Jim had just bared his soul to Pam, and before leaving Dunder Mifflin for Stamford, he wanted to share a genuine moment with her.

Pam reciprocated, even though she was still set on marrying Roy. This wasn't just a peck; it was the first true expression of their feelings for each other.

However, some fans kept debating whether Jim and Pam's lips truly locked for the first time at The Dundies, claiming it as their inaugural kiss. However, both Jenna Fischer (who played Pam) and John Krasinski have set the record straight, confirming that their characters' first genuine smooch happened in the episode Casino Night.

While technically, Jim and Pam's lips met during The Dundies, it's the season finale that holds the crown for their first genuine kiss. As Jim himself said in the season 4 finale, his first kiss with Pam was at the office, making Casino Night their official first kiss.

Even The Office’s official X (Formerly Twitter) account jumped in, confirming that John's first on-screen smooch was with Jenna during Casino Night.
