It’s even easier (and tastier) and mac and cheese.

Even though we’re used to thinking that all the most delicious dishes require quite some time of cooking, this is not really true when it comes to some examples of pure comfort food.

Take this recipe of cheese pasta as an example, with the dish itself going further than the classic mac and cheese and now also including sausages. The result is both simple and extremely delicious, taking just around half an hour of cooking in total.

Ingredients: 200 g of pasta (elbow macaroni), 2 sausages, 20 g of butter, 1 egg, 2 tbsp of milk, 50 g of smoked cheese, 2-3 slices of processed cheese, salt, freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Cut the sausages into rounds and fry them in butter until lightly browned. Add the dry macaroni directly to the pan, toss with the butter and sausages, then pour in a little hot water, just enough to almost cover the pasta. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally: the macaroni gradually softens and absorbs the liquid, becoming tender and full of flavor.

When the pasta is almost done and there’s just a little liquid left, add the grated smoked sausage cheese and pieces of processed cheese. Stir; everything will start to melt and turn into a thick, creamy sauce.

Separately, mix the egg with the milk, pour it into the pan, and stir vigorously right away so the mixture becomes silky and coats the pasta, rather than clumping together. Cook for another couple of minutes over low heat until done.
