The children's hit show is mostly led by the team of puppies, but there’s another important character that gets an even bigger role. Here’s everything you need to know about Ryder and what he does in Paw Patrol.

One of the most successful children TV series right now, Paw Patrol keeps getting more and more attention from both kids and adults with every new season and movie special.

Primarily centring on the team of search and rescue puppies of different breeds, Paw Patrol is a fascinating watch for those who can’t help admiring the pups’ cute appearance and excellent professional skills, though it’s pretty clear that those characters wouldn’t be so well behaved without human involvement anyway.

Particularly, all thanks might go to Ryder who is one of few recurring human characters and one of the most important team members.

In the show, Ryder is a tech-savvy and gifted 10-year-old boy who becomes the leader of Paw Patrol.

In fact, he’s the reason why Paw Patrol exists at all since Ryder was the one to rescue all of the pups who would later become his team’s members.

Enthusiastic and easygoing, Ryder took time to train every single puppy and prepare them for their duties at Paw Patrol; he’s also always eager to accompany his pets to rescue missions and, despite his pretty young age, Ryder can already boast of saving most of Adventure Bay’s citizens multiple times.

The show has repeatedly stated that Ryder is the intelligent and creative centre of the entire team, with him knowing the solutions for every single problem and preparing every puppy’s equipment before they set out for a mission.

What Are Ryder’s Other Responsibilities?

Apart from supervising every puppy and providing the equipment for every specific need or mission, Ryder also serves as a dispatcher for the Paw Patrol team, receiving emergency calls on his Pup Pad and appropriating puppies based on their skills and qualifications.

He then communicates with the chosen puppy by giving them clear instructions through Pup Pads that every team member has to have handy.

Additionally, he’s constantly proving himself as a good owner for the puppy team, regularly checking every pet’s well-being, giving them healthy snacks and providing some playtime while they need to have a rest after a hard day at work.
