The emotions were worth a little break from filming.

Not many viewers realize that the laughs and ovations they hear at certain points in episodes of The Big Bang Theory are actually recorded live as the audience watches the taping.

As you can imagine, this makes the filming experience more difficult at times, but the end result is much more authentic.

In an interview with TVLine Kaley Cuoco, who played Penny on the show, shared some of her most memorable moments from the set, including some that involved a live audience.

Quiz: Which The Big Bang Theory Character Are You?

According to the actress, the romantic scenes between Amy and Sheldon, portrayed by Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons, and Penny and Leonard, portrayed by her and Johnny Galecki, got the most reaction she can remember.

However, only one scene impressed the audience so much that they didn't stop applauding for more than 10 minutes.

The proposal scene was everything fans have ever wanted for Leonard and Penny. It captured their relationship perfectly, while also being very heartfelt and sentimental.

But no dialogue could ever get fans more excited than the ring that Leonard pulled out of his wallet to finally seal the deal on their engagement.

This scene had the audience clapping and cheering so hard that the actors had to sit there and wait for it to end.

"Funny enough, they wrote that Pop Tart line at the very last minute and I couldn't remember it! I kept flubbing it, making everyone laugh, to the point that I was like, "OK, this is taking the charm out of the scene!" Cuoco shared the struggles with her lines, which almost ruined the experience for her.

However, as we saw in the episode, it all came together perfectly in the end.

"But it ended up being so cute, and the audience was going crazy, standing and cheering…. We had to keep telling them to calm down, but they had waited so long for it".

If you're in a sentimental mood and want to relive the love story of Leonard and Penny once again, stream The Big Bang Theory on HBO Max.
