Julia Roberts might stop by to have this unforgettable taste once again.

Some dishes shown in movies or TV series mostly serve as a background for the unfolding drama, but in some cases food can also be one of the crucial elements in the character’s changing mindset. This is the precise description of Spaghetti all'Amatriciana, the now iconic pasta eaten by Julia Roberts’ Liz in the not less iconic 2010 movie Eat Pray Love.

The dish itself isn’t something very complicated, so many can still cook it at home, trying to dive deep into the unique atmosphere of the film.

Here’s what you need (for 4 portions): 250 g of spaghetti, 2 tbsp of olive oil, 100 g of bacon, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 800 g of canned peeled tomatoes, 30 g of grated Parmesan cheese, spices and salt to your taste.

Fry the bacon in olive oil until golden brown, then add the spices, finely chopped onion and garlic, and a little later, the chopped tomatoes.

Cook until the sauce thickens, about 20 minutes, then toss with cooked spaghetti and let it rest a little before serving. That’s it!
