The Perfect BBQ Side: A 5-Minute Classic Coleslaw Recipe with a Creamy Homemade Dressing

The easiest salad recipe that you’ll repeat again and again thanks to its delicious creamy sauce.

Though many of us are used to thinking that salads can’t be enjoyed just as much as any meat dish, it’s definitely not true when it comes to the famous coleslaw. Usually served with BBQ meals, this salad is a perfect combination of vitamins and rich taste thanks to a special sauce that will make any vegetable the most delicious food you’ll ever try.

Apart from that, coleslaw is extremely easy to make, so make sure you keep this recipe for your next BBQ session or rather as a healthy dinner option.

Ingredients:

For the salad: 300 g of white cabbage, 200 g of carrots, celery stalks to your liking.

For the dressing: 3 tablespoons of sour cream, 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 0.25 teaspoon of salt, ground black pepper and sugar to your liking.

Remove the outer wilted and damaged leaves from the cabbage, wash it, and finely chop it. Place the chopped cabbage in a deep bowl.

Peel and wash the carrots. Grate the carrots using a medium or fine grater. Add the grated carrots to the bowl with the cabbage.

Wash the celery leaves, chop them finely, and add them to the salad.

In a deep bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, salt, sugar, and ground black pepper, mix well. Dress the salad with the sauce just before serving.

Cole slaw can be enjoyed as a stand-alone dish or served as a side dish with meat, potatoes, chicken, or fish.
