This is your sign to finally stop torturing yourself with multitasking.

We’re living in a world where everything is measured by efficiency, but sometimes getting those dream results quicker doesn’t actually bring you any good.

Employees are now used to doing five different things at the same time, trying to prove themselves and make a career while sacrificing their mental health. What’s trending now is slow productivity and, despite many thinking so, this has nothing to do with human weakness.

Why Multitasking Doesn’t Work Anymore

The main reason for such a shift in perspective is that people finally saw the consequences of trying to manage a million different tasks at the same time.

When a person’s attention disperses to numerous things simultaneously, none of those can be done properly, the anxiety level is breaking records and rushed decisions are made.

All this leads to temporary fatigue becoming a permanent one, which later will result in a burnout. Right now most people have finally come to terms with the inability to remain in this endless circle of unachievable ambitions, realising that there’s no point of doing something without diving deep enough into it.

How to Finally Slow Down, but Remain Productive?

The good news here is that you don’t need to build your entire life from scratch, the most important thing to do is to change your normal day routine.

The first task in the to-do list is to pay more attention to your sleeping schedule, allowing yourself to have at least 8 hours of sleep every day.

Next, make sure you don’t do three things at the same time, complete them one by one depending on your priorities.

Another possible solution is to make small pauses of 10-15 minutes far away from the screen during the work day and leave all the important decisions for another day instead of trying to make them during the night.

Lastly, remember about life-work balance and, well, just leave your work at work.
