For instance, the Southern states in the US can boast of having the famous sausage gravy that has since become one of the local legends and a tempting meal option for both citizens and tourists.

The sausage gravy is often considered a significant part of the authentic American breakfast, so save the recipe for the time when you’ll want to have a taste of America or rather pay homage to your own culture.

Ingredients: 1 pound of thick sausage (Country Original or thyme-flavored), ⅓ cup of flour, 3–4 cups of whole milk (the amount depends on your desired consistency), ½ teaspoon of seasoned salt, ¼ teaspoon of ground thyme, ½–¾ teaspoon of black pepper.

Fry the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into pieces. Do not drain the fat since it forms the base of the sauce. If there isn’t enough fat, add 2–3 tablespoons of unsalted butter.

Add the flour, stir, and cook for 1–2 minutes until the raw flour taste disappears. Pour in the milk, one cup at a time, stirring after each addition. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

Add seasoned salt, ground thyme, and black pepper, then stir again.
