Set several years after we last saw the Hill family in 2009, the new season picks up with Hank and Peggy returning to a very different Arlen, Texas. After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement, they come back to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, their son Bobby is living his best life as a chef in Dallas, enjoying his twenties alongside his former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.
