When The Rock confronts Deadpool, the only result is a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Summary

  • It was recently reported that the production of Red One, starring Dwayne Johnson, was in trouble due to his tardiness.
  • The same is said to have happened on the set of Red Notice.
  • There may have been a clash between The Rock and Ryan Reynolds, but new information contradicts this.

Celebrity quarrels and feuds are not uncommon, and the public will always be actively following the behind-the-scenes drama of red carpets and Hollywood movie sets. Naturally, we could go on a rant here about the unethicality of prying into aspects of people's private lives that they would rather keep private, but let's face it, we love bread and circuses, especially when the reasons for the feuds turn out to be absolutely ridiculous.

Unfortunately, the media also knows very well that the public loves bread and circuses, and therefore quality journalism often turns into a search for scandalous infodumps that may turn out to be untrue.

In this context, it is interesting to analyze the case of the alleged clash between Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Ryan Gosl... Reynolds, of course, we meant Reynolds. Not too long ago, TheWrap published an intriguing article about possible issues with a new movie being produced by Johnson's company Seven Bucks Productions, Red One. The production is reportedly facing difficulties due to The Rock's irresponsible behavior, and the media outlet compared the situation to the 'huge fight' that allegedly took place between the two popular actors in 2020.

But is it all true? Or are we once again faced with media exaggeration?

The Rumored Beef between The Rock and Reynolds

In 2021, Netflix released the action comedy Red Notice, which was co-produced by Seven Bucks Productions and starred Johnson, Reynolds, and Gal Gadot. The film received a cold reception from critics, but audiences loved it, and according to Netflix, it became one of the most-watched projects on the streaming platform.

However, the production process was reportedly quite 'rocky' (pun intended) due to a conflict that broke out on set at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when movie sets had to maintain rigid protocols. The reason for this was allegedly because The Rock was many hours late for filming, which hampered the shooting and production of the movie at large. As a result, according to TheWrap, there was a heated argument between Reynolds and Johnson.

But Is That So?

However, TMZ's sources tell a slightly different story. According to them, Reynolds did confront The Rock about the filming process, but the conversation turned out to be professional and both actors quickly came to an understanding. The Rock was also said to be on set the next day on time.

However, TheWrap reported that the new Dwayne Johnson movie is experiencing similar difficulties.

There May Have Been Some Truth

According to the publication, the new film, Amazon MGM's Christmas comedy Red One, ran into production problems because Johnson was seven to eight hours late for shoots and even missed some days altogether.

However, an Amazon MGM spokesperson denies everything, stating that 'Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One — a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season. Our testing has been very strong — the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself — and we couldn't have made it without Dwayne's constant work and support.'

But as usual, we'll probably never know the whole truth, and we can only trust one speculation or the other. Red One wrapped filming in February 2023 and was scheduled for release as early as December 2023. However, due to the sudden WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year, the release date was pushed back to November 15, 2024. The film will be distributed in the US and Canada by Amazon MGM and elsewhere by Warner Bros. Pictures.
