The whole speculation went to a new level recently, proving that the crime drama series’ fandom will do whatever it takes to explore every corner of all the behind-the-scenes photos, previously published by The Rookie’s actors, to get as many clues as possible.
Ironically, the show’s creators previously made an attempt to trick everyone into believing that those pics served for nothing else but for pure distraction. It’s too late though — fans already have a theory to rely on.

While the finale itself is still around two weeks away from airing, the show’s audiences went far in their research, connecting the dots about who will definitely return in the current season’s final episode or even earlier.
The whole theory, explained by Redditor eyslandgirl, relies heavily on pictures posted by Rookie’s cast and crew on social media, even though some of those were believed to be a red herring, hiding what’s really in store for the finale.
The user started off with Patrick Keleher’s Instagram post, suggesting that “he returns because BTS photos were posted of Patrick (Seth) filming IN UNIFORM riding with Nolan in mid-December”.
They also continued with several other characters like Tamara Colins who will “seemingly come into play with Seth” since “we have BTS photos of Dylan (Tamara) on set during the same week as Patrick (Seth)”.

The Rookie’s ongoing season is yet to prove who was right after all, but so far the theory has garnered a surprisingly fair amount of supporters in the same thread.
