For years this existed strictly as internet folklore: Nathan Fielder — yes, The Rehearsal Nathan Fielder — was allegedly visiting Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos girlboss-turned-federal-inmate, and quietly filming something.
It sounded like fanfic written by a Letterboxd account with a fever. It is, in fact, a movie. A real one, with a poster.

Sunday night, Telluride lost its mind
A24 unveiled You Can See Everything as the festival's secret screening, complete with the biggest lines of the weekend and a check-your-phone-at-the-door policy, which for a movie about Silicon Valley's most famous fraudster is almost too poetic. Fielder co-directed with Lance Oppenheim, and it hits theaters in October.
The setup: 34 days before reporting to prison, Holmes invites a skeptical film crew into her life. What follows is three years of Fielder and Holmes essentially staring into each other's souls, two apex predators of eye contact finally meeting in the wild.
The line
The teaser is short, and it's mostly Holmes, wide-eyed, rocking her baby, assuring Fielder of her sincerity:
"Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that."
Fielder, a man who has built an entire career on the question of whether anyone is ever being real, asks her exactly that. Her answer — "I'm always being real" — is four words, and I have not stopped thinking about them since. Neither, apparently, has he:
"I really am struggling to this day to understand exactly what I experienced," Fielder said, adding that he's hoping audiences can help him figure out what he went through.
The director of the movie would like the audience to explain the movie to him. Perfect. No notes. See you in October.
