A fairy-tale character and cannot die. And now there is talk of John Wick 5 again.
Reeves gave an ultimatum
But Keanu Reeves, who turned 60 this year, is no longer the kind of person who can count a flight of stairs with his ribs and not blink an eye. As a source tells In Touch, the actor honestly says: if he does return, he will work smart, not to the point of exhaustion.
The script is being written, Lionsgate is eager for a sequel. Chad Stahelski, the permanent director, is back in business. But — there is one “but”. Keanu is ready to act only if the action is proportionate to his capabilities.
He does not refuse stunts, but he is quite ready for “heroic self-destruction”. Reeves is not capricious, but he wants the 60-year-old killer to look organic on camera. He has decades of action scenes and many injuries behind him.
He is ready to become John Wick again, only not a non-stop killing machine, but a hero who has accepted his age. The script will take the story beyond a new final mission.
However, if Tom Cruise jumps from a biplane at 62, then Keanu can very well show a master class. Just do not expect the crazy dynamics of previous films.
