Once you learn this hack for the most delicious onion rings, you’ll never get those they serve in restaurants.

A thought of making some of the most famous snacks at home rarely occurs to most of people since it’s much easier to just stop by a fast food restaurant and get everything you want in several minutes.

However, preparing snacks like onion rings at home will not only help you see what exactly you are eating and what this food contains, but also will likely introduce you to one of your favorite recipes.

Ingredients: 2 large onions, 1 cup of buttermilk (or kefir), 1 egg, 130 g of unsweetened crackers, 130 g of flour, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of chili pepper, up to 1.5 L of vegetable oil.

Start by preparing the onions: slice them into rings about 0.7 cm thick. In a bowl, mix the buttermilk with the egg. Separately, crush the crackers into crumbs and combine them with the flour, salt, and hot pepper.

Next, heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep skillet. Dip each onion ring first into the buttermilk and egg mixture, then coat it in the dry mixture of flour and crumbs.

Carefully lower the rings into the hot oil in portions and fry for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Place the finished rings on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve immediately while they are hot, crispy, and aroma-filled.
