The Terminal List episode 6 explained: this time, Reece's name is on the list
The man James Reece drags out of an Athens hotel room spends most of episode 6 refusing to talk, and the first useful thing he says is about Reece.
The Terminal List season 2 arrived on Prime Video on October 21, with Chris Pratt back as former Navy SEAL James Reece. In season 1, Reece wrote the names of the men he blamed for the deaths of his wife and daughter on the back of a drawing his daughter Lucy had made, and worked his way down it. The tenth and last name was his best friend, Ben Edwards. Season 2's sixth episode is titled "Rats in a Maze."
How Reece gets Landry
The episode starts with Oliver Grey, played by Jeremy Bobb, meeting Jules Landry at a shipyard in Athens. Landry, a former CIA officer played by Luke Hemsworth, knows Grey has been trying to have him killed, and brings a bag of severed fingers from the men Grey sent to do it. He wants money. Grey pays.
That night, Landry drugs a woman at a nightclub and takes her back to his room. Reece is waiting there. He chokes Landry unconscious, and the team moves him to a black site in Kurdistan.
What the drugs get out of him
Reece and Mo Farooq, played by Dar Salim, go through the usual pressure first, and Landry gives them nothing. A powerful drug combination changes that. Here's what he gives up:
- al-Nawaz gave him travel documents for two snipers, Tariq Nizar and a Chechen known as Tasho
- the snipers are headed to Odesa, Ukraine
- Grey has had Landry under his control for years
- the whole operation was built to reach Reece, though Landry doesn't know why
"It was never about me, it was all about getting to you," Landry tells Reece.
Then he turns it personal. He brings up Ben Edwards, who "sold you and your boys out for money," and asks Reece whether he put his best friend on his list. Then he asks for immunity.
Meanwhile, in Athens
Reece's friend Raife Hastings, played by Tom Hopper, has his own reason to go after Grey: Grey ordered the hit on him and Katie Buranek, played by Constance Wu. He has been tracking missing American weapons shipments, and he and Reece realize they've been chasing the same conspiracy from opposite ends.

Raife heads to Athens with Tal Varon, a former Mossad operative. Tal finds Grey and ties an exporter named Stavros to the weapons. Grey is getting his own orders by phone, from a man called the Colonel.
"Kill Stavros, or my men are to kill you," the Colonel tells Grey.
By the time Raife arrives, Stavros is dead and Grey is gone.

Who the Colonel is
Reece and Freddy Strain, played by Gabriel Luna, leave for Odesa. Mo stays behind with Landry and uses on him the same piano wire method an al-Qaeda cell had planned to use on Mo. "Careful. It's important that you don't struggle," Mo tells him.
This time Landry gives up the name behind Grey, or as much of it as he has. Grey works for a Russian ultranationalist tied to the Black Hundreds, and Landry knows him only by his rank, the Colonel. What Mo does to Landry next happens offscreen, under the sound of screaming. Then Mo calls Reece.
"Someone called 'the Colonel' is planning to hit America and you," Mo says.
His last words before the episode ends: "Watch your back, my friend."
