The Ultimate Chili Con Carne: A Rich and Hearty Mexican Classic for the Whole Family

However, it’s not only authentic Mexican restaurants where you can try the most delicious dishes and snacks, since making those in your own kitchen won’t take much more time either. If you’ve waited for a sign to finally make yourself a Mexican dinner with the famous chili con carne at home, here it is.
Ingredients: 500 g of ground beef, 1 onion, 2 red bell peppers, 1 chili pepper, 300 ml of beef broth, 400 g of tomatoes in their own juice, 400 g of red canned beans, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of ground chili pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 0.5 teaspoon of marjoram, sugar to taste, 2 cloves of garlic, black pepper to taste, salt to taste, 50 g of tomato paste.
Rinse the red bell pepper under running water and dry it. Remove the stem and seeds. Cut the pepper into small cubes.
Peel the onion and garlic. Cut the onion into small cubes. Finely chop the garlic with a knife.
Rinse the chili pepper under running water and dry it. Remove the stem and seeds. Finely chop the peppers with a knife. If you like spicy dishes, you can leave the seeds in.
Heat a deep frying pan. Pour in the vegetable oil and heat it up. Add the onion. Fry over medium heat for a few minutes until it becomes transparent and soft.
Add the bell pepper, chili pepper, garlic, ground chili, paprika, and cumin. Mix all the ingredients together. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring regularly.
Add the ground beef. Fry all the ingredients over high heat. The meat should acquire a brown color. Stir from time to time.
When the minced meat is fully cooked, pour in the broth.
Chop the tomatoes in their own juice and add to the other ingredients.
Add tomato paste, marjoram, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.
Rinse the canned beans under running water. Drain in a colander to remove any excess liquid. Add to the chili con carne. Stir. Cook for another 10 minutes. The dish is served hot and can be garnished with green onions and parsley.
