This must’ve been one of the craziest moments on the 2000s TV.

One of the main qualities that makes soap operas such an attractive genre is the amount of drama in a single episode. With episodes being released daily, the viewer never gets bored.

Every new day they are greeted with new plot twists and absolutely insane scandals. The Young and the Restless is no exception.

Although the show managed to gain success by showing the different (but so similar in core) issues that two families with drastically different incomes are facing in their daily lives, as the years went on it didn’t manage to stay away from bizarre storylines. The mid-2000s ones were probably the craziest out of them all.

Michelle Stafford, who portrayed Phyllis Summers back in 2006, and continues to portray her today, recalled one of the storylines she herself found the most enjoyable back in a day. The actress shared her thoughts and memories in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“I don’t know how well received the storyline was but it was one of my favorites to play! <...> All these jail cell scenes were fun. So different. I do remember we all had a hard time getting past the “you want the shank, come get it” line without laughing our asses off,” Stafford added in a caption to the video.

The storyline she refers to was played out between her character and Kimberlin Brown’s Sheila, who went on and had a bunch of plastic surgeries to fully copy other woman’s looks.

While we can see how these scenes would be fun for the actress to play in, the fanbase’s mixed reaction to this prime soap twist is also understandable.

The beauty of the soap is in that they’re never getting bored, and it confirms to be the true statement not only for the viewers but for the cast and crew as well.

If you want to freshen up the memory of Michelle Stafford’s takeover of Sheila, you can go ahead and stream older The Young and the Restless episodes on CBS.com or Paramount Plus. To see what Genoa City holds for Phyllis Summers in the near future, tune in to CBS Monday through Friday.
