The scandalous movie with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has spawned a new series of movies starring more big names.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s It Ends With Us might have ended everything between them forever, but instead started a new era of movies adapted from Colleen Hoover’s books.

An author to more than 20 novels and short stories, Hoover has so far seen 2 of her bestselling books turning into a 2024 drama It Ends With Us and a 2017 TV miniseries Confess, both based on the novels of the same names.

Amidst the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, things are still moving forward for Hoover since at least three more of her books are currently being adapted for big screens.

While one of the upcoming movies has been in the works for a while, two others are also being developed with Hollywood’s several major stars joining in.

Verity (2026)

Based on Hoover’s novel of the same name released just two years after It Ends With Us, Verity was announced back in February, with Deadline also revealing that Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, and Dakota Johnson had secured leading roles.

The upcoming psychological thriller is helmed by Michael Showalter reuniting with Hathaway after their first collaboration on last year’s hit romcom The Idea of You. More details are probably yet to come, but so far the film is believed to arrive in theatres on May 15, 2026.

Published back in 2018, Verity initially follows Lowen Ashleigh, a writer whose work crisis suddenly vanishes when she’s contacted by Jeremy Crawford, the husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford.

As the latter needs help with finishing her successful book series after a mysterious accident, Lowen is the one to get the job, but the excitement goes down quickly after she discovers a document exposing Verity’s darkest secrets.

Regretting You (2025)

Scheduled for a release on October 24, Regretting You is the next adaptation coming right after It Ends With Us.

The movie was announced last year and by far has wrapped filming up, getting ready for the arrival in theatres with Alison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco and Scott Eastwood in the leading roles.

The romantic drama is based on Hoover’s 2019 book of the same name, following Morgan Grant and her daughter Clara witnessing a big incoming crisis in their relationships.

Having had Clara at a very young age, Morgan has built her entire world around her daughter, sometimes even tossing her personal biggest dreams away; things get way more complicated when Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father dies in a tragic accident.

Reminders of Him (2026)

One more Colleen Hoover movie to be potentially released next year, Reminders of Him has just recently entered its production, scheduled for landing in theatres worldwide sometime on February 13, 2026.

There’s no saying about the rest of the cast yet, though Maika Monroe, who you previously could see in the Nicolas Cage-led horror Longlegs, is believed to have been cast as the lead.

The original novel, published in 2022, follows Kenna Rowan, a convict set free after five years in prison who comes back to her hometown, hoping to reunite with her 4-year-old daughter.

However, everyone who is now involved in her kid’s life tries to cut Kenna off despite the latter’s attempts to prove how much she’s ready to sacrifice for her daughter’s sake. The only person Kenna can find trust in is Ledger Ward, a local bar’s owner who can help his old friend find a reconnection with her child.

Soon a romance between the two starts growing, and it doesn’t come without a huge risk for both Kenna and Ledger; the former will now have to find a way to make it up to her past mistakes and build a new, better life.
