These 5 New Hulu Arrivals Are Just Brilliant & Their RT Score Confirms

It’s always nice to see a long-awaited new show or movie finally being dropped on one of the most popular digital platforms, but the streamers are also there for you to bring in some good old nostalgia.

Apart from new arrivals, it’s quite possible that this month marks the return of that one movie you’ve been longing to rewatch all this time, and you might even find it among some newcomers on Hulu — the streamer has just expanded its collection with several high-rated hits everyone enjoyed back in the day.

From Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar winner to Steven Spielberg ’s hit sci-fi — consider yourself all set for the rest of this month.

Arrival (2016) — 94% RT Score

Long before Dune and its sequel arrived on the screens, Denis Villeneuve proved his talent for sci-fi storytelling with the Amy Adams-led drama Arrival.

The story revolves around Linguistics professor Louise Banks who joins the team of investigators when the Earth is invaded by mysterious gigantic spaceships landing in 12 different locations; tortured by her personal tragedy, Louise must find a way to communicate with the invaders before they wipe the entire humanity off the Earth.

At the 2017 Oscars ceremony, Arrival was a possible winner in 8 nominations, but eventually took one award for Best Sound Editing.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) — 93% RT Score

Wes Anderson’s animated feature from Noah Baumbach’s script, Fantastic Mr. Fox is based on the novel of the same name and features half of Hollywood’s voices, including ones of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson and many more.

The movie follows Mr. Fox as he tries to stay away from criminal deeds of the past now that he’s a married, well, fox with a child, though he’s still tempted to go on the very last adventure of the lifetime.

Whether you’re a fan of Cillian Murphy or not, you just can’t deny this man is able to bring an impeccable performance in no matter which role.

Right after Oppenheimer ’s raving success, the actor starred in a lower-budget Irish drama Small Things Like These, following devoted family man and coal merchant Bill Furlong who figures out something truly horrifying about Ireland's Magdalene laundries.

What’s even more horrifying is that the movie delves into the real-life events that were shaking the country back in the day, offering a look at how ostensibly “fallen young women” were treated.

Widows (2018) — 91% RT Score

Some sort of a remake for the 1980’s series of the same name, Widows is a gripping mystery story about a woman gathering a team to confront the man her dead husband is indebted; they soon plan to carry out a heist even her criminal spouse wouldn’t be so ambitious to come up with.

The movie has an all-star cast that includes Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo and Liam Neeson among others.
