Turn a package of frozen puff pastry into an addictive, flaky finger food that leaves everyone begging for the recipe. Layered with sharp cheddar, smoky bacon, garlic, and dill, these warm pastries pack a savory punch and require almost zero effort to put together.

Ingredients: 1 pound of puff pastry (thawed), 1 cup of finely shredded cheddar cheese, 1 ounce of smoked bacon (very finely diced), 1 large egg, 1 tablespoon of milk, ⅓ teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon of dried dill, and a little all-purpose flour for dusting.

To start, divide your thawed puff pastry into two equal portions. Dust your clean countertop with a little flour and roll both pieces out into identical, neat rectangles, then whisk the egg and milk together in a small bowl to create an egg wash and brush it smoothly over both sheets.

Sprinkle the garlic powder and dried dill evenly over one of the pastry sheets, then scatter the finely diced bacon and shredded cheddar right on top. Cover the filling with the second pastry sheet, egg-wash side facing down, and press the edges gently to seal the layers together.

Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to slice the dough lengthwise into strips about 1 inch wide. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, then gently lift each strip, twist it from both ends to form a neat spiral, stretch it slightly, and arrange it on the pan.

Brush the tops of the spirals with your remaining egg wash to ensure a deep color. Slide the pan into an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the pastry puffs up beautifully and turns a deep golden brown.
