With Yellowstone season 5, one shouldn't get one's hopes too high.

Despite some fans still hoping for Yellowstone season 5 to get better, it seems that the only pleasant surprise in episode 7 was... one single cameo.

Episode 7 delivered a surprise appearance of Zach Bryan, American country singer who was just perfect for the western series atmosphere. After rocking the episode, Bryan took to Twitter to thank fans for sweet words he immediately received in the wake of his cameo.

"Thank you so, so incredibly much for having the boys and me, Yellowstone. Humbled and honored and don't know what I did to deserve it," Bryan tweeted.

According to fans, his little performance was basically the best thing about the whole episode, with some fans of his music even jumping on their sofa when they saw their favorite artist in their favorite show.

People praised Bryan as "the highlight of the episode", with the rest of it apparently bringing nothing new to the table, even though it did show the series' first queer kiss.

For the mid-season finale, the episode was pretty much as uneventful as the rest of season 5, which fans blasted for stagnation and failure to develop any storyline. According to fans, a major change is needed for the show to become interesting again, and so far, its mid-season finale has not brought it.

The second part of the season is due to kick off on January 8, with episode 8 arriving at Paramount Network after a short hiatus — the first time for Yellowstone to split the season in two parts.
