Thought Rachel Brosnahan Peaked with Maisel? Think Again — She’s Back With a Murder Case and Something to Prove

And this time, the stakes are bloodier, twistier — and personal.
After dazzling us for five seasons as the quick-talking, stage-owning Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Rachel Brosnahan seemed to take a well-earned breather. But now she’s back — and trading punchlines for power plays. Brosnahan will star in and executive produce Season 2 of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, Variety has confirmed.
The second season will pivot to a brand-new case based on Dissection of a Murder, the upcoming novel by Jo Murray (due in 2026). Brosnahan plays Leila Reynolds, a young attorney who unexpectedly finds herself defending a man accused of murdering a respected judge. He insists on one thing: he wants her — and only her — in court.
This marks Brosnahan’s first major TV role since Maisel, where she scored five Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe wins.
The new chapter of Presumed Innocent promises a darker, more psychological ride — no official logline yet, but courtroom drama meets moral grey zone? We’re in. And with Brosnahan leading the charge, this isn’t just prestige TV — it’s a statement.
