Timothée Chalamet’s Oscar-Nominated Biopic Will Be on Hulu This Week

The hit movie garnered numerous accolades and 8 nods from the Academy, but eventually didn’t win any.
There were many pleasant surprises and shocking snubs at the latest Oscars ceremony that took place several weeks ago; from Mikey Madison surpassing Demi Moore in the Best Actress category to Conclave winning just one award out of 8 nominations and Emilia Pérez taking 2 statuettes, this year’s ceremony was a wild ride many might still be having mixed feelings about.
However, Timothée Chalamet’s musical drama is still considered one of the biggest snubs of that evening, despite being a true frontrunner on pretty much the same level as Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist.
The movie, also starring this year’s Oscar nominees Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro, has been long gone from theatres worldwide, but will soon land on Hulu.
A Complete Unknown Will Arrive on Hulu Already This Week
Those who are still not over Timothée Chalamet’s loss to Adrien Brody at the Oscars might find some consolation in the former’s movie once again since, according to Hulu’s previous announcement, A Complete Unknown will join the streamer’s collection of hit movies on March 27.
Directed by James Mangold, the film stars Chalamet as American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, following him through the euphoria and hardships of the successful music career that skyrocketed in the blink of an eye.
A Complete Unknown received universal acclaim from both critics and audiences, currently holding scores of 82% and 95% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes. In the box office, the film grossed more than $130 million against its budget of around $70 million.
It Took 5 Years for Timothée Chalamet to Prepare for the Role of Bob Dylan
Though many definitely wished it would have been Chalamet’s turn to take the Oscar for Best Actor, the award ultimately went to The Brutalist’s Adrien Brody; the former, however, does seem to be doing just fine with what this year’s awards season had to offer him.
At the SAG Awards ceremony which is traditionally followed by the Oscars, everyone was surprised to see Chalamet winning his first ever major award for the role in A Complete Unknown, becoming the youngest actor in history to receive the statuette.
“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role, and how much this means to me, but the truth is, this was five and a half years of my life. I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist, Mr. Bob Dylan, a true American hero, and it was the honor of a lifetime playing him”, the actor stated in his acceptance speech.
