Because of its loveable characters and light humor, TBBT has become a popular choice to rewatch when you want something easygoing and familiar.

However, fans have recently noted some unfortunate details in the series that have ruined the show for them.

And there are more of these tiny irritations than you would initially believe. You may want to stop reading here if you don't want to spoil one of your most loved shows forever.

There is something wrong with the food

One of the major annoyances fans spotted early into the series is how the actors pretend to eat their food during scenes.

Food appears quite often throughout the show, considering that most scenes are set either in the university cafeteria, The Cheesecake Factory, or Leonard's and Sheldon's apartment.

However, if you focus on what the actors are actually doing, you'll notice that the food rarely enters their mouths.

This is surprisingly a common practice within TV series. As physically eating during a scene is either impractical if you have to constantly reshoot the same sequence, or it is difficult to speak your lines while chewing.

Nevertheless, according to the fans, it's a detail that once you notice, you'll find it distressingly hard to ignore afterwards.

A surprising lack of headrests

Another minor detail that is hard to shake is the lack of headrests during car scenes. Although not the most common TBBT locations, the characters often travel together in scenes.

Especially as Sheldon never learns to drive and always requires a lift. Yet fans have observed that the seat headrests in each car are often missing.

Especially when there are characters also in the back seats. Obviously, this is done to allow for better visuals and camera angles. Yet, it doesn't stop the detail from being totally distracting.

The number of inconsistencies

If you thought all these annoying traits were limited to food and driving scenes, think again. Like with any series, everything is shot multiple times and edited together.

However, slight errors always find a way of slipping through the cracks. Any eagle-eyed viewer will spot the inconsistencies between certain shots, which are clearly filmed at separate times.

This is most clear with half-filled to full-filled glasses, sudden changes of clothes, visible crew members, and even continuity errors in the character's backstories.

The laugh track

The cast and producers of TBBT have always been adamant that the show is filmed in front of a live audience. However, many viewers have often accused the show of using a laugh track.

It's likely the show really did get genuine laughs throughout. Yet the odd consistency of the episodes' laughter suggests there is more to it.

Many sitcoms use the technique of splicing laughter from other takes over scenes that did not get the desired reaction.

Something that, if you listen to every episode, can make you wonder which jokes are genuinely funny after all.
